As the wait for Brexit continues, uncertainty grows for the future of immigrants living in the UK

Eleven days have passed since the UK was supposed to depart from the EU and the country is still no closer to agreeing a deal with officials. With tensions running high between ‘leavers’ and ‘remainers’, the desperation to secure a deal is more apparent than ever.

For immigrants who have moved to the UK from countries inside the EU, the wait for an official departure is agonising. Eliska Spalkova, a student at the University of Lincoln who emigrated from the Czech Republic three years ago worries that she will have to move back to her home country.
