The iconic fox best known for his fluffy fox tail and his shouts of “boom boom” when he finds something funny had his first television appearance in 1963. After that he had his own programme “The Basil Brush Show” which was first on air in 1968.

His first co-presenter was Rodney Bewes, better known for his appearances in “The Likely Lads”. Basil then had string of other presenters including Mr Derek, Mr Roy, Mr Howard and Mr Billy.

The show returned to CBBC in 2002 with Mr Stephen after being absent for 16 years.

City Vibe’s Charlotte Reid spoke to Basil Brush earlier in the week where he reminisced about the wonders of Steep Hill and spoke about the most British thing of all, the weather.

The show starts at 2pm with ticket prices beginning at £10. Tickets can be booked from the Theatre Royal’s Box Office on 01522 519 999.
