Bonfire night – The safe way

Recently in the news there has been many stories covering the horrific events that took place on Bonfire night, from the many safety issues that lead to many burns to the controversial outbursts.

It’s easy to conclude that the next best option is to remove all bonfire night festivities from your calendar next year however, it may be preferable to consider the many other alternatives before you do.

For example amongst the chaos of 5th of November Sir Francis primary school held its annual Bonfire Night Spectacular.

That showcased more than just a firework display and also included fair rides, bonfires and food. It ran from 5:30pm till 8:30pm and was open to all members of the public.

Apart from all the many activities the event  held it also showcased a safe way to celebrate bonfire night with all members of the family.

However, if you would prefer a more intimate family affair, Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue made a list of nine rules to follow. In which they recommend only using fireworks that carry a manufactures CE mark and also to follow the instructions listed on specific firework you will be using.
