Lincolnshire born actor Jim Broadbent will be returning to the county on Friday evening to perform in Lincoln Cathedral.

The BAFTA award-winning Harry Potter actor will be performing poems by Alfred, Lord Tennyson in the Nave.

Friends and fellow actors Patricia Hodge and Ian Hogg will be joining Broadbent in his performance.

The show is part of a year of special events happening in Lincoln to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta.

Profits made from the sale of tickets will go towards the maintenance and upkeep of the Cathedral.

Lord Tennyson was born in Somersby, Lincolnshire and was Poet Laureate during most of the reign of Queen Victoria. Today he remains one of Britain’s most celebrated poets.
