Lincoln marked the start of the festive period with the return of the Christmas Light Switch On.

The town centre kicked off the countdown to Christmas Day with the return of their decorative Christmas lights on Thursday 22nd November.

Stars including Barney Harwood, CBBC’s Chris Johnson and stars from Lincoln Drill Hall’s Cinderella joined the Mayor of Lincoln to switch on the lights across the city centre.

Festive illuminations now light up St Marks Shopping Centre, the High Street and inside Waterside Shopping Centre.

As the nights begin to draw in, shoppers can enjoy this array of festive lights as they do their Christmas shopping.

Shops across Lincoln stay open until 8pm for late night shopping every Thursday, giving people the chance to buy festive gifts and treats for their loved ones this year. Christmas music can also be heard in the shopping centre.

A giant Christmas tree stands proudly at the heart of Waterside Shopping Centre as the city gets ready to celebrate this year and then start the countdown to New Year’s Day.
