Lincoln lit up on Friday evening for the annual Christmas light switch on.

Many people attended the event, which kicked off Lincoln’s official Christmas celebrations.

The festivities started at 6pm and continued throughout the evening.

The first switch on was hosted at St Marks Shopping Centre by John Marshall from Lincs FM.

Following this, the high street lights were switched on by the Mayor of Lincoln, Councillor Sue Burke.

The evening was filled with festive entertainment, including performances from Lincoln’s New Theatre Royal pantomime, Robin Hood.
