Christmas shoppers head to the Cathedral for preview evening

Curtis of Lincoln Bakery has recently started selling its baked goods in the Lincoln Cathedral shop.

Busy Christmas shoppers were given a head start with an annual Christmas preview event.

The event took place at Lincoln Cathedral, where visitors browsed the shops Christmas product range and received a 15% discount on purchases.

Shoppers were spoilt for choice with themed ornaments, tree decorations, sweet treats, nativity sets, decorative candle holders and more.

Outside of the shop Lincoln Cathedral Refectory served mince pies, and Curtis of Lincoln Bakery made an appearance with their stand of baked goods.

Bakery assistant and member of the Curtis family Ann Houlton said: “We have brought our plum bread that we are planning on selling in the shop, and some other goods along from the bakery just to make it a bit more festive.”

Other Lincolnshire based businesses which are currently supplying the Cathedral include Lincoln Gin and the Lincolnshire Brewing Company.

Shop manager Sam McKay said: “We would like to supply more local produce to increase the ranges, as it will help reduce carbon footprints and it is making people more aware of Lincolnshire produce, and local craft products.”
