CITY VIBE: Pigeons are letting the side down in clean Lincoln

Lincoln has been named Britain’s third cleanest city but pigeons are letting the side down.

Lincoln was the runner up to both Truro and Nottingham who were awarded five stars for cleanliness.

In an unannounced inspection the British Cleaning Council looked at everything from the amount of litter to chewing gum on the street.

But City of Lincoln Council has put plans in place to starve the pigeon population in the city centre.

The City Council will be issuing fines to anybody seen feeding the birds, with Councillor Yvonne Bodger believing this is the easiest option.

City Vibe’s Holly Collas looked into this further.
