LSJ TV: Council houses back after 20 years

The City of Lincoln council has announced plans to get people off the waiting list for council houses, by reintroducing Council Houses across the City.

There are already one thousand seven hundred social houses in the city, however, the Council are concerned that there are still over three thousand people waiting for a home in the city.

With a low income across the city, affordable housing is a constant battle for young people trying to get on the property ladder. The council hope that with new builds being made, the amout of people struggling to get into the property market will lower.

There is currently an old car park on Wellington Street being dug up to build five new council houses. This is just the start of a new project in which homes will be built across the whole city.
