Dog Rescue stall to open in Lincoln Market

This week, a new market stall is coming to Lincoln’s indoor market. The Doris Banham Dog Rescue has been given a stall to sell bits and bobs to help try and raise money for the cause.

By law, dogs that are ‘not wanted’ can be put down after the eighth day, and because of this, many dogs get euthanised each day.

With thousands of dogs being put down each year, the volunteers at Doris Banham are trying to raise awareness to cut down this number as much as possible. Everyone involved with the Doris Banham Dog Rescue work for nothing, and alongside their full time jobs.

Siren FM’s Victoria McNichol went to find out more from volunteer Karen Broxholme.

Volunteers are urgently needed, and so for anyone interested in volunteering, you can contact Natalie Shaw on 07761 638440 or email on nat.shaw1@ntlworld.com
