The Eurostar train service has today been criticised for their reaction when their trains broke down in the Channel Tunnel.
An independant review, referring to when four Eurostar trains went down due to engineering faults, has found that there were serious concerns about the procedures that were in place.
Passengers have said that some members of staff seemed to go into hiding leaving, while other passengers took control of the situation. The malfunction, which left two and a half thousand people stranded for up to seventeen hours, was due to a massive increase in temperature when the trains entered the tunnels from France.
Eurostar’s chief executive Richard Brown said, ‘It was unacceptable.’
