Fun set to rock UK

Fun, the exciting new brain child of former lead singer of The Format Nate Ruess, have taken the US by storm and now a UK tour looks to be in the works with Lincoln as a possible tour venue.

The band is comprised of Ruess, formerly of The Format, ex Anathallo multi instrumentallist Andrew Dost, and Jack Antonoff from Steel Train.

The band are currently on a US tour accompanied by a full orchestra. The multi talented Andrew Dost decribed the style of the band as: “Broadway combined with rock a little bit like the little mermaid.”  This odd combination however seems to work as the band have only risen in popularity, almost creating a new music genre of simply put ‘fun’.

Their music video for ”All The Pretty Girls” recently won an award from ‘mtvU’ (Music Television for Universities) as voted for by their fans. When asked how being chased by a mob of girls was Andrew said: “It’s not something I’m used to dealing, never an entire mob, maybe one rabid fan.” Rumours of a UK tour seem to have foundation; “nothing is official, there are a couple of things with potential and we’re doing everything we can to get over there”.

One thing seems to be clear. This orchestra fuelled rock ‘n’ roll seems to be just the start as funs star rises.
