Judge rejects BNP constitution

A judge has ruled that the BNP’s membership constitution could be discriminatory to non-whites.

The political party recently voted to allow non-white members to join but Judge Paul Collins ruled that they could still discriminate.

He quoted the 1976 Race Relations Act and said the BNP’s rules can single out people of ethnic backgrounds.

Cityvibe’s Ashley Partridge spoke to Richard Keeble, a lecturer in Human Rights at the University of Lincoln, about the situation.
