This year’s Dragon Boat Race has raised nearly £7,000 for charities across Lincoln.

The annual event which has been running since 2016 involved 16 teams racing along the Brayford Waterfront. This year, the team from Belton Construction came out on top.

Ringrose Law, the organisers of the event, presented a cheque yesterday to three Lincolnshire charities – St. Barnabas Hospice, LIVES and the Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.

Marketing manager Alex Bennett described it as “not only a fantastic event for people to watch and cheer on teams, but a great fundraiser that we love running every year.”

There are already plans for the boat race to return with an event scheduled for Saturday 20th July 2019. They are hoping to sign up more teams in the new year.
