Lincoln Cathedral has been granted its share of £8m for cathedrals across the country.
In total, 31 cathedrals across the country will benefit from the First World War Centenary Cathedral Repairs Fund.

The Very Reverend Philip Buckler, Dean of Lincoln, said: “We are most grateful to have secured an additional £300,000 from the First World War Centenary Cathedral Repairs Grant.
“There is still much work ahead, to build on this funding and support the work of maintaining this magnificent building.
“We are, as ever, grateful to all our benefactors who support the Cathedral.”
MP for Lincoln Karl McCartney welcomed the government’s announcement. He said: “These announcements are fantastic news for our English cathedrals and will ensure we repair and preserve them appropriately across the country.
“I am, of course, particularly delighted that our own beautiful and historic Cathedral in Lincoln will now receive a grant of £300,000 for repairs to its north west transept triforium roof.
“I will carry on working with Lincoln Cathedral and the local community in my constituency to ensure that we continue to maximise our influence within our Conservative-led government and benefit from funding streams such as these.”
