Lincoln City Centre was full of festive cheer on Friday, after the Christmas lights were switched on.

Hundreds gathered in St Mark’s Shopping Centre for the first switch on of the evening. With hundreds more gathered outside the War Memorial on Lincoln High Street.

The atmosphere was buzzing, and the streets were filled with eager children and adults waiting for Lincoln to be lit up and filled with Christmas spirit.

In addition to the switch on, people were treated to an evening of music, and performances. As well as an evening of late night shopping. Stalls also lined the streets, selling everything from sweets to German treats.

On the St Marks stage, the crowd were treated to a number of acts including a Spice Girls tribute act. They got the crowd dancing and singing along to a number of their top hits like ‘Wannabe’ and ‘Viva Forever’. They were later joined on stage by some of the cast from the Drill Halls Cinderella and children’s entertainer ‘Mr Shiny’ to switch on the decorations.
