Lincoln City unveil their £1.3 million performance centre

The Lincoln City Managers (Danny and Nicky Cowley) with the FA Cup Trophy

Lincoln City football club have opened the doors to their new £1.3 million Elite Performance Centre.

The training facility has been built with the prize money the Imps won during their ‘giant-killing’ FA Cup run in 2016-17.

City were the first non-league side in over 100 years to reach the Quarter Final of the competition.

They were knocked out after losing 5-0 to Arsenal – the team that went on to win the Cup.

The Elite Performance Centre boasts three grass pitches, a fully equipped gym, changing rooms and offices.

There will also be two specialist TV towers to allow staff to film and analyse training.

Danny Cowley, Lincoln City’s Manager, said: “I still reflect on our 2016-17 Emirates FA Cup run with a lot of pride.

“This new facility is going to be a fantastic legacy to that achievement but most importantly it will play a big role in nurturing the future talent of this club.”

Matt Rhead, striker for Lincoln City, said: “It’s unbelievable to have a place we can call a home, day in day out we can train and use it to its full facilities. It’s really good.”
