“It’s about going as far as we can.” Vickers has high hopes for the side in the lead-up to the FA Cup.

The goalkeeper has found his feet in recent games. He’s kept two clean sheets in his last four appearances since the 6-0 defeat to Peterborough.

He will be hoping to continue this into tonight’s game at Portsmouth. Kick off is at 7.45pm.

Speaking on recent performances, Vickers said: “It was nice to keep another clean sheet at home, we’ve been very good at home in terms of clean sheets. We’ve kept most of them at home.”

He’s given credit for his performance on the weekend to his goalkeeping coach Andy Warrington, saying: “I’ve worked with some really good goalkeeper coaches and he’s one of those.”

Lincoln City will face Ipswich Town in the first round of the FA Cup. Ipswich are currently first in the Sky Bet League One, while Lincoln sit at 12th.

In 2017 Lincoln City beat Ipswich during their famous FA Cup run. The run saw them reach the quarter finals, where they lost to Arsenal 5-0.

“It would be nice if we could go on another run.” Vickers said, continuing to say: “If we can get another big tie here it would be really nice.”

He finished off stating the feel the team has in the changing room about the cup, saying: “It’s the biggest cup competition in the world so we look forward to it.”

The Imps’ will travel to Ipswich on November 9.
