The United Lincolnshire Hospital’s Trust has joined NHS Trust’s across the country by dropping its parking fees from today.

Previously visitors were charged £5.00 for staying more than 4 hours and £1.70 for up to an hours stay.

Blue Badge holders weren’t excluded either with a daily charge of £1.90 being applied.

From today (Thursday 26th) visitors to Lincoln County Hospital as well as Boston and Grantham Hospitals will be able to park free of charge.

The trust had already announced that staff parking would be free from the 1st of April till the 31st of July meaning that staff and visitors can now use any of the available spaces.

The trust also says that disabled parking spaces will still be reserved for blue badge holders.

The changes come after Health Secretary Matt Hancock announced today that NHS staff and social care workers will be given free parking during the COVID-19 Coronavirus outbreak.

NHS Scotland announced on Tuesday that car parks at the Dundee Ninewells Hospital, Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Edinburgh Royal Infirmary would become free of charge for the next three months.
