Lincolnshire’s ‘Ask For Angela’ campaign is receiving global attention

A campaign started in Lincolnshire is becoming a worldwide topic.

Lincolnshire County Council created the  ‘Ask For Angela’ campaign as an extra safety method in bars and pubs.

It has been designed for people who feel uncomfortable or unsafe in any situation; if they ask a member of staff for ‘Angela’ they will then be discreetly helped. The poster also features the phone number of the Lincolnshire Rape Crisis.

The campaign has now become known globally after a picture of the ‘Ask For Angela’ poster was tweeted with celebrities, such as Aston Kutcher, retweeting the photo with their support.

Our reporter Jess Ward spoke to Penny Norgan who is the General Assistant at the Widow Cullens Well. The local pub was one of the first in the city to introduce the campaign.
