Lincolnshire County Council are to test road gritters this evening in preparation for the winter, if the weather conditions are suitable.

The gritters were originally intended to be tested on Thursday, October 25th, though the winter team tweeted that “conditions meant [the team] didn’t need to go out.”
The tweet continued: “We’re monitoring the weather closely to see if we’ll be out tonight instead.”
A follow-up tweet confirmed: “Latest forecast data shows we may be going out tonight but we’re waiting for some more data around 6pm before making a final decision.”
Further updates are available on the @LincsCC_Winter Twitter feed.
Earlier this year, the council ordered 15 new gritters and 15,000 tonnes of Egyptian salt to ensure they’re not in short supply.
