Lincoln is set to celebrate the Great British banger in style as the annual Lincolnshire Sausage Festival enters its tenth year tomorrow.
The festival will be opened by Mayor of Louth, Jill Makinson-Saunders, who made national headlines when she greeted the Olympic Torch in a sausage costume.
The one-day event also sees an appearance from television chef, Rachel Green, who is putting on cooking demonstrations using many varieties of sausages made in Lincolnshire.
The event is organised by the Rotary Club of Lincoln Colonia and will take place at the Lincoln Castle and Castle Hill.
Also, for the first time in the festival;s history, the Lincoln Cathedral will open for free on the day which will hold a food and farming festival inside, as well as entry for Lincoln Castle being free.
Last year the festival attracted eleven thousand people, and this year The Rotary Club hopes it will be just as successful.
Entry to the sausage festival is free and both the castle and cathedral will be open from 10am and close at 4pm.
