Lincolnshire pubs and restaurants prepare for reopening

Customers will be allowed to sit outside from Monday 12th April

Hospitality businesses are setting up their outdoor areas ready for customers to sit in.

Pubs in Lincolnshire have been closed for over six months due to government restrictions, but on Monday 12th April, they will allow customers to sit in their outdoor spaces. Here is how they have been preparing for reopening.

Visitors will be allowed to sit outside in either a rule of six or two households. They will no longer need to order a substantial meal along with a drink.

Leanne Davis, landlady of The Bull in Bracebridge Heath, outlines a few of the preparations they have been making.

“We’re planning to have a one-in one-out system for the toilets as well as QR codes on the doors. All tables outside will be appropriately spaced, and it will all be table service” said Mrs Davis

Bars and pubs across Lincolnshire have been closed since November due to tier restrictions and two national lockdowns.

Diane Ward, manager of the Adam & Eve in Wragby, said she was “really looking forward to bringing back customers again.”

“We have eight tables outside and a firepit. So, if the weather is nice, it should be very good” said Mrs Ward.

In their lockdown roadmap, the government has outlined that hospitality venues can allow customers to sit indoors from the 17th May. By then, a maximum of 30 people can sit outdoors as a group.
