The number of people living on the streets of Lincoln in rough and poor conditions are five times higher than previously estimated.

City Vibe has discovered that the way in which the number of homeless people are counted is to be revised. One keen supporter of this is the Reverend Liz Jackson, who is the programme leader of Lincoln’s Be-attitude Homeless charity. She told City Vibe that it is time that the figures reflected the true situation.

Under the old system the number of people sleeping rough in the city was around five. However, when the new figures are published early next year the number is expected to rise to around 25.
