Love Lincoln Trail marks its fourth year of celebrating St. Valentine’s Day

The Love Lincoln Trail has returned to the city in a week marking its fourth anniversary, celebrating St. Valentine’s Day.

Couples are being asked to post their selfies at five different spots around Lincoln where red metal love hearts have been installed.

The Lincoln Business Improvement Group (Lincoln BIG) are working with The Cosy Club in the Corn Exchange and the DoubleTree by Hilton to win prizes in a competition to win a meal voucher at Cosy Club and a bed and breakfast stay at the hotel.

Jacinta Peachey, events and marketing assistant at Lincoln BIG, said: “We want to promote different areas of the city with pride.”

The event is becoming more popular each year, according to Lincoln BIG.

She added: “It’s becoming a thing where the residents of Lincoln expect to see it through each Valentine’s period every year.”

The love hearts have been installed around the city at St. Mark’s Shopping Centre, the High Street, City Square, Brayford Wharf North and Castle Hill.

In order to win the competition, people are being asked to take a selfie at all five locations and post them on Instagram using the hashtag #LoveLincolnTrail

The trail is running until February 17 and the winner will be announced the following day.
