Low temperatures help to save money!

During this cold snap we’re all thinking of ways to keep warm. But in Lincoln town centre, the focus is on keeping the temperature down.

Lincoln BIG ice rink was opened last Thursday and the freezing weather is resulting in more eco-friendly skating. With the aid of snow and ice in the county, the ice rink is becoming more cost-effective because the chillers don’t have to work as hard to keep the ice frozen.

However, with the additional snowfall last night, workers are now rushing to clear the rink and surrounding areas so it can be used safely. A member of staff explains how they’re going about shifting the snow:
