LSJ News – Footbridge plans approved

Elderly woman struck down by barriers

Plans which have caused controversy for the new Lincoln footbridge were approved on Friday.

Network Rail is installing the bridge on the Brayford Wharf meaning shoppers and commuters will no longer be held up by trains.

In March, councillors refused Network Rail’s plans because they did not include lifts for disabled people which they felt was not good enough for the city.

In a recent appeal this decision was over turned, however the bridge will still not include the facilities needed.
