LSJ TV: Female boxers punching through the stereotype

Think women’s sport and you will probably imagine gymnastics, synchronised swimming and volleyball.

How about boxing?

For the first time women are going to be competing in the 2012 Olympics.

Bracebridge boxing club is one of the boxing clubs in Lincoln, and quite a few woman like to punch their way through a training session.

The club has seen the number of women attending classes rise over the years.

Alison Taylor, one of the boxers at the gym, said: “I’m a regular gym user and a couple of years ago I just wanted to do something different”.
