Lincolnshire could benefit from lottery funding aimed to strengthen communities and attract all ages of an area to work together.
The ‘Awards for all’ project, funded by the National Lottery allows organisations in Lincolnshire to apply for funding to celebrate the 2012 Olympics.
Schools, parish councils and voluntary and community based organisations could all benefit by applying for funds.
Earlier this month a briefing event was held at Lincoln’s Health Hub with representative from all the partnerships involved in the scheme.
Sally Rate from Lincolnshire County Council, the cities project manager was also on hand to advise and inspire potential applicants. Sally explained to LSJ how her personal aim was to ensure areas within the county didn’t repeat the same activities with the funds. She hoped to do this by creating a detailed events calendar which will be available online from the County Councils website nearer the time.
Local residents who spoke to LSJ appeared excited about the prospects of funding their projects.
However, time is running out to apply. There is only three months left to get your application forms in for funding to be approved in time for the Olympic games in the summer.
Remember to apply for funding you must be part of a community organisation or group such as a school, religious group or other non profit organisation.
