New Study Shows Lincoln 72% Climate-Friendly

Lincoln is 72% climate friendly, according to a new study.

The data, released by green group Friends of the Earth, highlights the key areas councils need to focus on such as Lincoln’s woodland, renewable energy and recycling.

Statistics show that Lincoln’s woodland is only seven per cent and a third of the city’s population uses green forms of transport.

The green group hopes councils develop a Climate Action Plan to achieve a better climate standard.

Richard Dyer, Friends of the Earth East Midlands campaigner, said: “Creating cleaner and greener places to live means healthier, happier lives. It’s why local authorities in our region need to adopt ambitious local climate action plans, with help from communities.”
