A revised £29 million transport hub could soon be benefitting the people of Lincoln.

City Councillors have approved the plans in a meeting this week for a costly revision to Lincoln’s existing transport hub that will consist of a multi-storey car park with 800 spaces, a 200 reduction from the 1,000 spaces that were outlined in the initial plans for the renovation. A new bus station will be added in a different location as well as a retail space.

This revision of the plans splits the project into two phases, which the Council hopes will speed the overall process and mean it will be completed earlier than was first anticipated.

There is an aim to commence work on the project in the summer of 2016, given that the correct planning permission can be sought.

Completion of the bus station and the car park by the end of December 2017.
