A petition has been launched this week to oppose potential plans to build a new £1m restaurant where the Brayford Viewing Platform is. The petition, which was started by campaigner Calum Watt five days ago, comes following plans to build a restaurant on the much love site.

The platform was closed late last year due to it being deemed an ‘unsafe structure’, but for years before this, it was a much visited place for many people in Lincoln. The platform was the perfect scene for a romantic stroll after a meal on the Brayford, but no more.

If the restaurant is built, it will drastically restrict the view of the Brayford from many of the other eateries in the area, which would be a real shame for the people in Lincoln, Calum said.

He also said: “The long term benefits will be better served by preserving the prosthetics of the area.”
