The University of Lincoln and Lincolnshire Police are partnering to found a new scheme that aims to let students volunteer with the force.

The Lincolnshire Police Lincoln Award entails a number of training courses for students as well as workshops that aim to give volunteers an insight into policing. Two volunteering opportunities are available, both as a Volunteer Community Support Officer and as a ‘Police Campus Drop-in Centre’ volunteer.

The scheme is well underway, with the first batch of VPCSO’s already actively volunteering as of 5th September, as well as the Drop-In Centre attracting more than 40 students wishing to volunteer.
