A Lincoln school paired up with City Council to build a greenhouse made of plastic bottles.

Pupils from Lincoln Christ Hospital School and the Environment team at Lincoln City Council gathered dozens of plastic bottles for the build.

It took all of Wednesday to construct the 8 foot by 6 foot greenhouse which will be given as a prize to the most environmentally friendly county school.

Peter Metcalfe, from City Council, said the structure will be on show at the Sustainable Schools showcase next week:

“It will be on show for all the school governers, councillors and teachers. After that, it will be won by a school that’s in the prize draw. They can put it outside and grow veggies in it!”

The event takes place at the Lincolnshire Showground EPIC Centre next week. You can hear Ashley Partridge’s full story below.
