Future 2.0 – Star Wars StormTrooper

Future 2.0 is returning to the University of Lincoln for its fourth year on November 7th.

The futuristic event showcases space-age technology, pioneering research, futuristic fun and this year YouTube sensation Thomas Ridgewell aka ‘TomSka’  will be making an appearance.

The event is inspired by sci-fi film franchise Star Wars and offers a chance for you to immerse yourself in futuristic virtual reality worlds, discover the latest advances in consumer technology, and meet the University’s growing ensemble of cutting-edge robots.

 ‘TomSka’, known for his online comedy and animation sketches, will be taking part in a panel discussion about his career in the world of YouTube.

There is also a competition running for schools throughout the day  which will see attendees design innovative robots that showcase their academic knowledge, technical skills and creativity.

The competition will be judged by TV presenter and visiting lecturer Jason Bradbury.

The event is free and suitable for all ages. The morning (10am – 12pm) is open exclusively for primary school parties and in the afternoon (12pm – 3pm) it is open to secondary schools and the general public.

It will be running at the Engine Shed from 10am until 3pm.
