Survey shows students struggle for help with mental health

54 percent of students with mental health difficulties have not received adequate help from their universities, a recent survey has revealed. The survey from Equality Challenge Unit has sparked a number of fundraising events which are being held today in aid of the charity Student Minds.

Activites are taking place today at student accommodation Brayford Quay, including things such as bakes offs, bingo and a pool tournament which have helped to raise money and awareness for the charity.

Carys Mckay, Assistant Manager at Brayford Quay said: “We really like the charity because it’s really small and obviously working with 402 students we have our fair share of people who need a little bit of additional help.”

The charity also aims to raise awareness of these issues at University Mental Health Day tomorrow.
