The Greatest Show to bring the city of Lincoln together this Christmas

Alive Church, of Newland, Lincoln will be holding ‘The Greatest Show’, a Christmas spectacle inspired by The Greatest Showman.

The cast of the show has been formed by volunteer actors and singers, a choir, band, storytellers and aerial artists, and will tell the Christmas story.

The festive display will be held from Friday 14th December, until Sunday 16th December, with festivities beginning at 6.15pm, including the opportunity for children to meet Father Christmas, the chance to have some festive photos taken in a photo booth, and many treats such as mulled wine and mince pies.

The show will start at 7pm, hosted by the venue’s own showman, Tom Elliott, a comedian and magician regularly seen on the BBC.

The church welcome everyone to the show, with free admission to the event.

Alive church began life on 12th January 2014, after two churches in Lincoln came together to form New Life Christian Fellowship in 1983.

In 1983 two churches in Lincoln came together to form New Life Christian Fellowship. The newly formed church benefited from the background of both churches and found a new identity with a vision to reach the city and region.

Each and every week they serve hundreds of people in local communities, many of whom are marginalised and socially disadvantaged. They are committed to recognising the needs of, and working with families and individuals.

Each community is different, but it extends to local Food Bank centres, CAP centres, parish nursing, furniture/clothing provision and community engagement. Alive’s mandate is to see communities transformed and restored by the power of God.

Alice Kobrus, a student who visits the church and takes part in weekly activities as part of the student group, said of the production: “I am so excited because it’s such a cool event for the church to come together and collaborate talents.”

She went on to say: “There’s a hunger in Lincoln for this kind of stuff, especially as it’s a free event, I love how it allows everyone to be part of it.”

“The organisers have such a heart for the city and its people, they don’t hold back, the quality for the show is unreal and you get loads of free extras like free popcorn, photos and sweets.”

The organisers are excited for the production, and it will be a fantastic way for the people of the city to come together and celebrate the festive season.
