RECOUNT HAPPENING IN BLYTH (“Bundle recount…won’t take too long”)

CONSERVATIVES TAKE BLYTH VALLEY SEAT FROM LABOUR WITH A 712 WITH A 63.4% TURNOUT AFTER 69 YEARS. 

NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE CENTRAL HOLDS LABOUR SEAT AS WELL AS HOUGHTON AND SUNDERLAND SOUTH. 

Liberal Democrats candidate, Christine Jardine, says: “the poll doesn’t reflect what we have being seen on the ground in Scotland… tonight all feels a bit of a surprise.

Sky News Political Correspondent Nick Eardley believes if the exit polls are correct Scotland should expect another constitutional clash. 

Scotland SNP candidate Humza Yousaf says it’s “clearly a good night” for Scotland, but if the Conservatives get a majority it will be a “disheartening result”.

Michael Gove Cabinet Minister says “MP’s both re-elected and newly elected can’t presume there will be a gentle glide-path into the New Year… MP’s are there to work”. 

Former Labour MP Kate Hoey says if the exit poll predictions are correct, Labour will have “lost touch with its working class decent supporters”.
