What is Lincoln doing for LGBT history month?

LSJ Weekly found out what people in Lincoln are doing to celebrate the history of LGBT+ people.

February was names LGBT+ history month in 1994 in the United States. Now, Lincoln Students are celebrating the event with open panel discussions about inclusivity in university.

Lincoln’s Student’s Union are holding events all month.

The Lincoln University Students Union began a month of celebrations with the panel on February 3rd.

LGBT+ Students’ Officer Jacob Ford said: “I think LGBT history month is about looking back at the people that paved the way for LGBT+ people to be more accepted.

“A lot of what we are trying to do is work on creating a legacy so that even when we have gone people will still hold events.”

Later this month, other events such as lectures on the lives of queer people will be held across the University of Lincoln.

The final talk of the month will be another panel discussion event and performance held by Lincoln’s Students Union on February 28th.

LSJ Weekly will have more on the story on their bulletin at 3pm today
