Wizarding World comes to Waterside

Fans of Harry Potter and Game of Thrones may be grabbing their broomsticks and dragons in Lincoln this weekend for a magical experience.

The St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice is opening a Harry Potter and Game of Thrones pop-up store in the Waterside Shopping Centre on February 17.

The store will be open until the end of March and will feature a range of wizarding world merchandise, a games area and there will be second-hand goods for sale.

The shop will be split into different sections, with a kids’ vintage fashion area, ladies wear, wedding dresses, a gaming section, picnic table and there is even a place for you to take a book and enjoy some time away from the real world.

Caroline Peach, retail manager for St Barnabas Hospice Lincolnshire, said: “The pop-up shop will house a wide range of exciting stock, including a variety of clothing, books, garden ornaments and film/TV merchandise from Harry Potter, Game of Thrones and DC Superheroes.

“The shop is set up with aims of raising money and awareness for the work we do at the hospice and we look forward to welcoming fans to the store.”

St Barnabas Hospice is a local independent charity that supports more than 10,000 people affected by life threatening or a terminal condition.

All proceeds raised by the shop will go towards St Barnabas and will fund the work completed by the hospice.

Heidi Coulthard, a member of the Harry Potter society at the University of Lincoln, said: “It’s really exciting to have a store dedicated to Harry Potter in Lincoln even if it is only temporary.

“The age range of people who grew up watching the films are at university now so it will appeal to a lot of students. Personally I can’t wait to see all of the merchandise available.”

The shop will be open Monday to Saturday 9am – 5:30pm and on Sunday it will be open 10:30am – 4:30pm.

Season 8 of Game of Thrones is released in April this year. You can watch the trailer for it by clicking here.
