112 is the European standard emergency number. It isn’t just a handy number, it has it’s own day coming up.
On the eleventh of the second month (11-2) Europeans will ‘celebrate’ that people in 27 countries can call the same number when they need help. “We are happy that European help-agencies put so much effort in communicating this to the public” says Olivier Paul-Morandini, founder of the 112-foundation.
“The 112 number is the key for safety for every European. All of us should know how to use this number to inform the emergency services quick and easy about the problem.”
