Four fire engines were called to deal with a fire at the student accommodation Brayford Quays at lunchtime on Tuesday.

The fire caused an entire block to be evacuated and the riverfront to be closed.

It’s believed that the fire originated in the kitchen of Flat 14, Block One. The cause is unclear although eye witnesses have said it was a kitchen appliance.

A resident at the scene told LSJ News what she saw.
