Shoppers across Lincoln’s city centre will be able to access a new free WiFi network thanks to the City of Lincoln Council.

Launching next Monday the network will appear on shoppers phones as ‘COLin City of Lincoln Free WiFi Service’.

Designed for use with smartphones, tablets and computers the service will take users to the councils website before allowing them to browse the web for free.

Steve Bird, Assistant Director for Communities and Street Scene said: “We are currently working with Videcom Security, our main contractor on the scheme, to undertake final hardware checks.” “Once operational, the Lincoln City Wi-Fi scheme will be a great addition to

the city, and will be a benefit to visitors and shoppers alike.”
