Escape rooms, heists, grab a body part – it’s all in a day’s work for Lincolnshire’s mannequin lady, Roz Edwards.

Ms Edwards started a business selling and renting mannequins in the village of Grantham in Lincolnshire. Intrigued by their humour after some research, she embarked on this journey, and 15 years later, her phone still rings with demand for these quirky figures. She said: “I like to say I was abducted by mannequins.”

Ms. Edwards sources many of the mannequins from a manufacturer but also works with a lot of major retailers to give them a second life. She said: “I was disgusted to find out that mannequins get crushed and sent to landfill.”

Mannequins, typically spending seven years in retail stores, often end up in landfills due to ever-changing fashion trends. Roz’s effort to give them a second chance has not only saved these figures but also propelled them to stardom. From music videos with celebrities like Mika and Lady Gaga to appearances in Madonna’s film and the series ‘Sex Education,’ Mannakin’s creations have become iconic, and you can take a look for yourself on the Mannakin website – https://mannakin.com/.

She said: “I love watching people’s reactions when they come onto the site, the building is quite unique as it used to be the dining room in WW2 for the American airmen.”

Although a lot of people love visiting Ms. Edwards added: “Every now and then we get people who come in and won’t get out of their car.”

Lois Whitney, a 24-year-old woman from Lincoln, attended the site this year at Halloween to collect some body parts to decorate for her house. She said, “I couldn’t believe my eyes when we got through the gates, the mannequin mountain was huge, and the photos don’t do it any justice.”

Miss Whitney said: “It was such a great thing to do for Halloween as me and my family could be creative with them instead of simply buying the same old Halloween decorations.”

She added: “Grantham is just down the road from Lincoln and I’m so glad I now know about it.”

In the heart of Lincolnshire, Roz Edwards continues to bring happiness by transforming mannequins into sources of creativity and joy for everyone who finds her special world.
