Escape Rooms: Providing your mind with a way out.

Focusing on co-ordination, communication and creativity: ‘Escape rooms’ are physical adventure scenarios in which teams of two to six players pit their wits against a series of challenges and riddles.

With an ever-growing target market and 1,200 escape rooms across the UK, budding participants of all ages and backgrounds, are encouraged to visit any of the three projects that Lincoln currently has to offer.

Escape Lincoln, Tension EG and Deliverance Escape rooms, all offer a host of puzzle-orientated games which look to develop an individual both cognitively and verbally.

It is for this reason that these type of games are being trialled by various companies and corporate sponsors, as a way of implementing social-problem solving in the workplace. This helps to improve productivity amongst a team and aids the process of working to deadlines.

By encompassing a large group in rooms of differing difficulty and locking them up for sixty-minutes, you remove the cliques that may or may not exist. In addition through completing these tasks, team-members according to studies, will see an improvement in dopamine levels.

Three out of five employees have experienced mental health issues over the last year, as of 2018. This is an alarming statistic and this can only be dealt with accordingly, if a clear correlation between low dopamine and the early stages of depression, are underlined to an employer.

Not all escape rooms will indefinitely provide the answer to this problem but in terms of the work-related skills it provides, it would be foolish to ignore.

Escape rooms originally derived in Japan and despite over half of all UK escapees on average failing to actually….GET OUT, popularity has only soared.

The arrival of Enigma to the escape room scene in Lincoln early next year, is another indicator of the potential that this concept has and the growing demand that is associated with it.
