Independent alternative artist G.L Shelley has released his stomping new single Waiting For The One.

The new track was recorded at North Hykeham’s local studio Playing Aloud and will follow on from Shelley’s previous outing Keep Me Waiting which was released earlier this year.

Talking to LSJ about how the song came to light, Shelley said “I wanted to get something that was short, quick and raw, kind of like the early Vaccines material.”

“It’s got a bit of a rockabilly vibe behind the beat and energy,” he continues. “So it’s kind of got a Jake Bugg meets the Vaccine’s sound to it.”

The unsigned singer-songwriter is also set to headline Bentley’s Bar in Lincoln on July 16 joined by some of the best Lincoln’s original live music scene can offer, with the likes of Serena Joy, Current Climate and Mary’s Dream.

Discussing his excitement for the performance, Shelley revealed “I’ve gone to a couple of beer garden open mic nights since their reopening and even just at those the atmosphere is incredible. If that’s what an open mic is like, imagine what it’s gonna be like at actual shows.”
