Fine Art students from the University of Lincoln are hosting an arts festival in a creative tribute to David Bowie.
Oddity Festival will feature eight different exhibitions, each named after the late singer’s songs. The festival which begins next month, will consist of vast arrays of work from forty eight artists from the university. The work will cover various forms of art including videos, performances, photography and installation from all the emerging artists.
An opening night for Oddity will take place on Wednesday the 4th of May at 7pm at Home nightclub where there will be live music acts performing throughout the night. The exhibitions will commence the week after, and are free to enter and as well as photograph.
Izzy Ventress, a fine art student at the University of Lincoln, is one of the artists’ whose work is featured in the festival. His piece is called ‘Interference’, and is a TV installation using gendered imagery, “I’m using my body actually to my advantage, in kind of like an artistic expression” he explained. Izzy, whose work will be in the exhibition called “WE PR**K YOU” is also a main contributor to Oddity Festival’s production, and helped design the website and logo whilst building a committee for the event.
