Happy Valentines Day!

Lincoln is really getting into the romantic spirit today, but not for the reasons you may think!

The City has now been named a “heart city”. This means that it is one of the safest places to be in the UK if you have heart problems.

The British Heart Foundation has launched the new scheme in order to bring communities together to help those with heart disease.

Defibrillators are now placed all over the city, including the more rural areas of Lincoln, with trained users on standby if anyone should suffer from a heart attack. Nicki Elliot, the manager from the Lincoln branch of the British Heart Foundation said “Lincoln is now one of the safest places in the UK if you are someone with heart disease. It’s a very positive thing for the City.”

The Charity is working on more ways to raise money in order to provide even more for those with heart disease and to raise awareness further.

Besma Ayari reports.
